Word is filtering in that Motasim Najeeb the Chief Technology Officer of Sage North America may have left the company is leaving Sage North America. Motasim was appointed CTO of Sage North America by then CEO Sue Swenson in January 2009. He appeared at the company’s annual Sage Insights conference shortly thereafter to give his only prominent public address to the Sage channel partners where he discussed improving Sage’s underlying technology integrations.
Recent updates to the Sage North America executive web page omits Najeeb though it also fails to name a replacement. Word is that a mini-reorganization may have occurred late last week with several other executives receiving some repositioning so that they report directly to incoming CEO Pascal Houillon.
Prior to Sage Motaasim served as the CTO and EVP of Engineering and Operations at TradeBeam where he was responsible for product strategy, development, and IT operations. Prior to TradeBeam, he was the Group Vice President of Enterprise applications at Oracle with responsibility for all PeopleSoft ERP product lines. Mr. Najeeb was the General Manager of the Strategic Development Division at WebMD Corporation and the founding member of the team that grew WebMD from a start-up to a successful public company with revenue of more than $300 million. Earlier in his career, he held senior management positions at Silicon Graphics, Tandem and Intel Corporations.
Update: Sage have issued a press release on their changes. They’re not calling it a re-organization but rather an “Expansion of Customer Focus”. Most notably the company went out of their way to note that both Laurie Schultz and Tom Miller remain in place though there will be
..a new executive leader representing Mid-Market Solutions, including CRM, ERP, Channel and Customer Support, is expected to be announced in the near future. Laurie Schultz continues as SVP and general manager of the Mid-Market ERP business unit and Tom Miller as VP channel management, both reporting to CEO Pascal Houillon in the interim and to the new Mid-Market Solutions leader once appointed.
Essentially it seems this new executive leader would be a replacement for Jodi Uecker-Rust who departed unexpectedly in late 2010.
